Let's start with my favorite: Food!

Food: There is nothing like fresh baked goods. I've ordered a sourdough round, a focaccia bread, pecan roll, mini baguette, and several other treats. All were delicious. I did end up heating up the pecan roll at home and it was loaded with pecans plus microwaves well if you cover it, I call that a win.

If I had to pick a favorite it would be the Focaccia Bread and the pecan roll but I would order all of them again! Next time, I will give the pizza a shot. The pecan roll is loaded with pecans and gets more and more delicious as you eat it. However I love focaccia and it takes a lot of effort to make so it is typically my go to if I see a bakery making it fresh!

So happy to find this place while in the city. Freshly baked bread. So fresh that the Sourdough rounds are warm when you get them! I do wish they had maybe one more option of the focaccia breads since the options are adventurous at times and I prefer simple sometimes. However everything I've had here has been delicious.

Service: Each time I have been here the employees have been really nice, fast, and thoughtful. I also enjoy that it is fast paced. If it were any slower paced I would probably end up buying one of everything while in line. Don't be afraid to ask questions, the staff is very nice!

Atmosphere

Quick paced grab and go style bakery. It is small but ran efficiently so you walk in a little loop past all the baked goods and then to the cash register.

If you are looking to take your time it seems like lunch is their busiest time so perhaps another time throughout the day would be better.

This is a walk up bakery. However there are a couple seats outside that the patrons use to eat or wait at. Nothing fancy but not a big problem at all.

Parking and Wait Time: It was easy for us to find metered parking nearby but you could also walk from Golden Gate Park down the street which is free parking if you like to walk.

We got in and out in about 5-8 minutes every visit, including during the lunch rush even though there was a line of about 8 or so people before us. Note: there are hills so it may be difficult for those who are disabled.

Overall

I've been here three times now and have made it one of my regular stops when I have business in the city. I've enjoyed many treats from here and am looking forward to trying more on my next visit!

Story Time!

How I found this place: My grand father always tells me about these stories of him growing up and working as a delivery driver in San Francisco. He's telling me about the history of sourdough and the secret to why it's so good in San Francisco. He tells me about how he would take these big trucks into the city really early in the morning for deliveries before the morning traffic starts.

Our family has an absolutely affinity for food and has been in the food business for generations. So I ask him if he wants to join me on a trip to the city but he insists that I find and bring him back a sourdough round. So, I of course went to find a delicious sourdough round in San Francisco that I could inevitably enjoy with my grand father.

See, we have a Boudin where he lives so I couldn't go there. So then I start looking around for bakeries while I'm in town with my beautiful mother. We find 2 in walking distance of our hotel but they were both duds. So then we decide to head over near Golden Gate Park in hopes that there is a good bakery there and what do we stumble upon? Arizmendi Bakery. So I'm ecstatic because the sourdough rounds are warm as I pick one up out of the case.

Well anyways, now grandpa demands a sourdough round from here when I'm in town and I couldn't be happier to stop by and say hello!

The people who work here are nice, everything is clean, and a grab and go style bakery. Really lovely! Parking and Wait Time It was easy for us to find metered parking nearby but you could walk from Golden Gate Park down the street which is free parking if you like to walk. We got in and out in about 5 minutes even though there was a line of about 8 or so people before us. There are hills so it may be difficult for those who are disabled.
